Steps to
obtaining a homeowner insurance
policy... |
The first step is to get a quote. If you
have not received a quote please visit our Homeowner
Quote
page.
The next step is to make sure your quote is
"firm". If you have only received a "soft" quote, you will
need to visit our Home
Firm Up
page to
get an exact price.
If the home is over 10 years old,
one of our inspectors will have to perform a quick external
inspection. The inspection is at no cost to
you and does not obligate you to buy the
policy. In certain situations the policy can be written
before the inspection is performed. Contact us for
details.
If you are in the process of a home purchase and you
have a lender that you are working with, the easiest step
at this point is to put us in contact with them. We can work
with them to get the policy issued correctly. We will make
sure they receive the proper documentation so that you can
close on your home on time.
If you are simply switching your home
insurance from your current company to us, you will need to give us
your desired policy effective date. If you have a mortgage,
then you will also need to contact your mortgage
company to make sure they are aware you are switching your
homeowner insurance. You will also need to provide us with
your mortgage company address and your loan number.
If you do not have a mortgage then we
simply need to know your desired policy effective date.
If you cannot make it to our office, we can
handle most new policies over the phone and through email, fax, and
regular mail.
Keep in mind this is a
general idea of the process. Certain situations may have
slightly different requirements. Please contact us to finalize
your homeowner insurance policy. Thank you in advance for your
business.
